Laying out the kitchen or bathroom floor with tiles is not the complicated job you thought it would be. What you need is the knowledge of the right techniques to get this done.

Preparation is key, as it is with many other types of job. In the case of tiling the bathroom and kitchen floor, you need to first remove the toilet and basin. This frees you from the necessity of making awkward cuts as you work around the basin’s pedestal and the toilet pan. This step also gives you a much tidier result in your tiling.
Use plywood sheet or a compound that self levels to prepare the floor. Employ pya adhesive to lay a coat which will help the process of adhesion.
What you need to do next is to figure out the spacing between tiles. This ensures the neat finish on the edge of the room, as well as getting a result that is symmetrical.

Then it is on to the actual tiling process. Prepare the tile adhesive of your choice and then, using a spreader that is already marked, spread the mixture on the floor. Lay down the tiles on the floor. Use a 5mm tile spacer to separate them from one another. When you have covered the entire floor area, you need to leave the floor and the tiles to set completely.
Once you are sure the floor is set, you need to apply the grout. Prepare the grout by mixing it and then apply using a grout float or spreader. Wait for partial set, when this happens, lift off excess grout using a wet sponge.
Different types of adhesive work differently on particular types of floor and tiles. Try to choose the one that is best for the floor and tiles you are using.
