Glazed flooring comes already seal from the manufacturer. Unglazed tile, comes dull and porous and is usually glazed after installation.

If you go with unglazed tile you are most likely going to want a surface glaze to finish the tile. There are a variety of different types of glaze available today. You choose your type of glaze based on the look that you wish to achieve. There are glazes to make the floor extra glossy, if used in conjunction with regular sweeping and waxing. There are also glazes that will make the floor more matte, and natural looking.
Once your floor is installed and glazed, there are some basic care methods that you should be aware of. For starters, you want to make sure you keep your tile floor swept. After sweeping, you may mop with the cleaner or mild detergent of your choice. Always make sure that the cleaner is approved for your type of flooring by the manufacturer.
Do not overwax your floor. Ceramic tile typically does not need to be waxed very often. Just make sure you keep it swept. When you do wax, or use any other type of chemical on your ceramic tile floor, make sure that you read the instructions for use completely. Make sure all products that you use are compatible with your ceramic tile floor.
If the tile grout should become stained, this can be remedied with a little hard work. You will want to get a toothbrush, or other small scrub brush, and clean the grout with common household bleach or a specifically formulated grout cleaner. If you have colored grout, always to a test clean first, in a small area that is not very visible. Some cleaners will remove the color out of your grout, testing in a small area first will save you from this type of damage.
