The first step in the process entails measuring the entire room. Once you have a clear idea in regards to the proper dimensions of the room you will be able to take the steps needed to procure the proper amount of tiling for the room itself.

Speaking of the tiling, you will need to purchase ready cut tiles or you will need to cut the tiles from the boarding yourself. If you are a relative novice, you will probably want to purchase ready cut tiles since this will reduce a number of steps in the process while also making the job easier overall.

The tiles will also need to be laid out on the floor in preparation for affixing them to the floor itself. By laying the tiles out, you can get a definitive idea regarding how many tiles you need and how you will specifically affix them to the floor region. Consider this a form of careful preplanning that eliminates a number of potential hazards associated with not properly preplanning. When you don’t preplan, you will end up having to repeat a number of steps. Who would want to do that? Here is a better idea: lay the tiles out prior to affixing them so as to avoid such a problem.

The tiles are then removed and the cement board for the tiles will be placed down on the floor. The cement board will need to be affixed to the floor usually by nailing or drilling it down with screws. Once the cement board is in place, the tiles can be affixed to it.

And, of course, the actual process of affixing the tiles will need to be completed as well. This is probably the most rewarding phase of the process since it entails the completion of what needs to be done. Those looking to put their stamp on their new floor need to do so by adding the much needed tiles to it. Once this is done – everything is done!
