If you are not the “DIY” type person or just don’t want to deal with installing your own tile floors, there’s hope. In fact, the majority of people installing tile floors do not do it themselves. This, like many other installation tasks, creates a ton of jobs for professionals. You most likely have many people around your home who can install your tile floors for a reasonable fee.
You still need to select which tiles you want. Sometimes the installers also carry the tiles or work closely with suppliers. They may be able to guide you in choosing a material for the right room and maybe even do some design with you. Come prepared to your installer with an idea of what you are trying to accomplish. Also be sure to bring approximate measurements of the rooms you want tiled. Without this, there’s no accurate way of giving any pricing estimates. A professional will still need to come check out the layout of your home and do precise measurements again after the initial visit.
You aren’t locked into anything yet! After the professional checks out your floors, you need to wait for a call back on the estimated pricing on the completed job. This will usually include the tiles you have chosen at the previous meeting. Professional tile installers will handle every aspect of the job. All you have to do is sit back, relax and…sign the big check. The installers will remove your old tiles and dispose of them. They will get the new ones sent it and install them too all while taking very good care not to soil your house. For the most part, you should expect the workers to cover up any walkways or flooring that they will be walking across. This is a tile job, not a hookup for their floor cleaning friends.
