Cleaning tile floors, in any part of the house is quite an easy task if done properly and regularly. This guide will help you with basics of cleaning tile floors.
The tiles usually only need a cleaning with warm water, if the floor has been swept thoroughly and any dirt and debris removed. Therefore the first thing you’ll want to do is sweep the floor on a daily basis. Do not use water on the muck as it will trap the dirt on the floor.
You can add Eucalyptus Oil and water as a cleaning mix. It is a cleaner and disinfectant in itself and it is often added used to perfume the cleaning mix.
The dirt which is set in the tiles can be removed with the help of a nail brush. With regular cleaning there after the tiles should remain in good condition.
The use of harsh chemicals is usually not needed for this kind of flooring but if they’re used the tiles also needs to be cleaned afterward with a mop and plain water.
A newer option with regard to cleaning tile floors is by using Oxygen Bleach. This kind of bleach is non-toxic, and doesn’t have the horrible fumes that include normal bleach. Just mop the tile floor using an Oxygen Bleach with water.
Be careful of using chemicals that could scratch or damage the tiles. Never use ammonia based cleaners or strong bleaches simply because they have harmful chemical contents. If there is a spill, clean the tiles instantly as the tiles will have a tendency of absorbing the material and there could be stains in the long run.
Cleaning normal tile floors is not very difficult but cleaning bathroom tiles can be a little tricky because they get dirty so much more often, especially on the grout. To clean these, soak paper towels inside a bowl of vinegar and apply them about the tiles. Remove the towel and rinse after some time. Do the same thing with a bowl of bleach. Finally remove the towels and wash thoroughly.
To reduce on the cleaning of the tiles, minimize the tile floor area where there is more movement by placing a few mats.
